Upcoming OnePlus Smartphone To Carry Cheaper Price Tag, Reveals OnePlus Indian GM
The co-founder of OnePlus, Carl Pei, had announced few months ago that its handset will be released before Christmas. Vikas Agarwal, the General Manager of OnePlus India, revealed that the next OnePlus handset will be a mid-range model.
According to Economic Times, even though the next OnePlus smartphone will be released across the globe, it will be mainly aimed towards Indian consumers. He also confirmed that the device will be released before the end of 2015, and will be priced around $180 to $300.
He added that the upcoming handset from the company will not be a flagship device. However, it will be a lifestyle and fashion product that will appeal the masses. Even Pei had revealed in August that the next OnePlus smartphone will be targeted towards those people who appreciate design over specifications, Phone Arena reported.
The two major markets for OnePlus are the U.S. and Europe. However, it aims to attract more buyers from the Indian marketed as the company sales from 7 percent in 2014 to 40 percent in the first quarter of 2015.
Agarwal had mentioned in 2014 that the company will be launching an online portal exclusively for the Indian consumers for selling its OnePlus handsets without invitation. At present, Indian customers who have acquired an invitation to purchase the OnePlus 2 are required to visit online retailer sites, Amazon and Flipkart.
Recently, alleged renders of the OnePlus Mini were published by a Chinese website, mobile-dad.com. Rumors suggest that it will feature a full HD display, a MediaTek MTK6795T chip that clocks at 2.2 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage, rear camera of 13-megapixel and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
