Stock up on more tissues, “Vampire Diaries” fans. After episode 21’s shocking death, it doesn’t look like the Season 5 finale of the hit CW series will get any better. Episode 22 is set to air on May 15, and we’ve got 11 shocking photos to prepare you for the heartbreaking drama in “Home.”

As we previously reported, the Season 5 finale will find Damon heartbroken after an “unexpected tragedy.” And after episode 21, we know what that “unexpected tragedy” is -- the death of Stefan. Unfortunately, Damon will have no time to mourn. With the Travelers in action and the Other Side crumbling, the eldest Salvatore has to be focused on problem solving.

Damon will turn to Bonnie to find a way to stop the disintegration of the Other Side, and the former witch will be throwing on her thinking hat. However she’ll also be taking the opportunity to “settle an old score.” (Yikes! Fingers crossed Liv gets a bite of bad Bonnie.)

Meanwhile Elena will be putting in her best efforts to save her friends from the fallout of the Other Side. Channeling her inner bad girl, Elena will demand that Liv and Luke use their magic to help. But in usual fashion, the witches put up a little bit of a fight – which leads Caroline to provide some “personal motivation.” But that personal motivation comes with a price, because Liv makes an off-hand remark about Stefan that leads Caroline to give a “surprisingly emotional response.”

But what about the Travelers? Their chant already caused a lot of problems for the crew, but things will only get worse when Markos resorts to violence – against Tyler/ Julian!

Fortunately Sheriff Forbes will gain some new information on the Travelers that will lead Damon, Matt and Jeremy to come up with a plan … a plan that involves a massive explosion in Mystic Falls.
