‘Vampire Diaries’ Star Ian Somerhalder Shares Tribute For Wife Nikki Reed On Her Birthday

Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed are still very much in love. Reed just celebrated her birthday, and “The Vampire Diaries” alum took it as another opportunity to share a tribute for his wife.

Reed turned 29 on Wednesday, and to make her feel extra special on her birthday, Somerhalder took to Instagram and posted a photo of them. In the snapshot, Somerhalder and Reed are all smiles as the “Twilight” star holds a bottle and a glass of wine, clearly in the middle of a celebration. It was accompanied by a lengthy message for the birthday celebrant.

“Happy Birthday to the most amazing human I know... Today, we celebrate you,” Somerhalder wrote. “The love and light you radiate to the world shines like a beacon for all to see. Its that love and light that guides me to the safe shores of home from the turbulent and sometimes treacherous waters of life.”

Somerhalder made sure to thank Reed for her tireless pursuit of spreading good vibes and willingness to be an instrument of change and also for weaving their marriage in the most magical blanket. Clearly, the soon-to-be parents are still in the honeymoon stage even after two years of marriage. Somerhalder ended his tribute to Reed by telling her how much he loves her, writing: “Every day I get to watch you being you I’m constantly reminded of your beauty and prowess and how lucky I am to share this life with you. Love, Ian.”

A week ago, Somerhalder and Reed announced on Instagram that they are expecting their first bundle of joy. The soon-to-be dad posted a photo of himself on his knees as he kisses Reed’s baby bump. “To our friends, family, and rest of the world. In my 38 years on this earth I’ve never experienced anything more powerful and beautiful than this,” Somerhalder wrote in the caption.

He added that he and his wife are excited to meet their first child and to take on the challenge of being parents, saying: “I can’t think of anything more exciting than this next chapter and we wanted you to hear this from us first. This has been the most special time of our lives and we wanted to keep it between the three of us for as long as possible so we could enjoy this time with each other and our little one who is growing so fast...because that's what they do, they grow so fast. Thank you for your kind energy.”

Meanwhile, Reed shared the same photo on her Instagram account and expressed her love for her baby. The actress said that her mother instincts immediately kicked in and she has already fallen in love with their little one.

“I know you, but only because I feel you. How is it possible to love someone so much already? All I know for sure is it’s the strongest feeling I’ve ever felt. We’ve been sharing this body for quite some time, and we’ve already experienced so much together. We can’t wait to meet you,” Reed wrote.

A source previously told Us Weekly that the couple has always wanted a baby. The “Thirteen” star was reportedly eager to have kids before she turns 30. Meanwhile, “The Anomaly” star was reportedly as eager in expanding their family.
