Vanessa Lachey Reveals Her Excitement About ‘Christmas Unleashed,’ Future Lifetime Christmas Movies

There is quite a bit to look forward to when watching Lifetime’s original Christmas movies every year, but while fans might be looking towards lots of romance and traditional holiday celebrations on their TV screens, one of their stars, Vanessa Lachey, is looking forward to something else when it comes to her newest film, “Christmas Unleashed.”

Speaking with International Business Times about the film and her Thanksgiving partnership with Libby’s Vegetables, the actress revealed that this role, in particular, is one she was excited to tackle because of the journey her character goes on throughout the film.

“For me, I’m excited about the idea of delving into a role a little more, and I hope that they take away from it how much I put into it,” she told IBT. “...This movie is really just about me and my self-journey and finding that through my childhood sweetheart and all while trying to find my dog, who is actually leading me back through this walk down memory lane.”

“It was a lot of work, but I’m super proud of it and I really just hope that people feel that’s as they watch it as well,” she added.

The film, which is her second for Lifetime following 2018’s “A Twist of Christmas,” was one Lachey said she couldn’t pass up on because of the fact that her real-life children (Camden, 7, Brooklyn, 4, and Phoenix, 2) can understand what’s going on when they re-watch the movies on TV, and she lies being able to share the experience with them now. In addition, this film, which involved her getting to film with a dog, also helped make her decision.

However, while this Christmas season I still underway, the actress is also looking forward to next year and what movie opportunities could come her way, and she even revealed her idea for a film as well.

“I’m trying to get me and Nick [Lachey] to do one next year, so both of us can be away,” she said. “Let’s do this! Me and Nick, Christmas movie filmed in Hawaii, that’s a mega plan!”

“Christmas Unleashed” airs at 8 p.m. Saturday on Lifetime.
