'The View' Season 26: Guest List Includes Reese Witherspoon, Hillary Clinton, Among Others
"The View" is returning with Season 26 from Sept. 6 onwards and its guest list has been revealed. The season will be co-hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin.
The highly anticipated season is slated to open with Hillary Clinton and her 42-year-old daughter Chelsea Clinton. The mother-daughter duo will talk about their upcoming docuseries, "Gutsy," which is scheduled to drop on Apple TV+.
Reese Witherspoon, writers Jennette McCurdy and Quinta Brunson, Constance Wu, Regina Hall, Stacey Abrams, Melanie Chisholm, Viola Davis, Tyler Perry, Sheila Atim, Elisabeth Moss and Maggie Haberman are all on the guest list of the talk show.
The cast members of "Shark Tank," which airs on ABC will also feature on the show this season. Billy Eichner, Jameela Jamil, Jenifer Lewis, former View panelist Star Jones, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Dylan McDermott, Idina and Cara Menzel, Thuso Mbedu and Lashana Lynch will also appear on the show.
The talk show is going to have newly added co-hosts – Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin. Earlier this month, when Griffin's name was announced, she said sharing the same table with Goldberg would have sounded crazy before but now she is excited about it.
"If anyone had ever told me I'd be sitting at a table with Whoopi Goldberg, I'd say they were crazy," said Griffin, ex-White House Director of Strategic Communications during the presidency of Donald Trump. "It's going to get sporty sometimes... but I'm so excited for it. I'm ready for it."
Goldberg, on the other hand, is known for speaking against Trump on the talk show. It will be interesting to watch these two sharing the same table and discussing their political views. Besides politics, the show will discuss entertainment and other social topics.
Navarro, who has previously appeared on the show as a guest host, shared her excitement to be on the talk show.
"We're finally putting a ring on it! It is the relevance, the importance, and the platform that The View represents," she told the outlet. "We at this table have spent a lot of time talking about representation and saying representation matters."
"The View" is a chat-show, which airs on the ABC network. Its first episode aired in August 1997. Since then, the show has become a part of many American households. Goldberg has been a regular on the talk show since 2005.
