'Vikings' Season 5, Episode 16 Preview: War Returns To Kattegat
Wessex has been saved, but the war will continue in “Vikings” Season 5, episode 16. Preview videos of the next episode tease the warriors returning to Kattegat, where King Ivar (Alex Høgh Andersen) is making new plans to secure his name among the gods.
Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) will get restless after the battle. A preview video of the next episode on YouTube shows his intention of going back to Kattegat, to take it from his brother Ivar. Bjorn doesn’t have an army, but he will use King Harald (Peter Franzén) to achieve his goal.
Why will King Harald welcome a man who played a role in his recent defeat? Bjorn will have a gift for his former adversary. Readers will remember the Viking woman that King Harald is currently interested in. That female warrior was last seen as a prisoner after the battle. The preview video of episode 16 shows this woman will be set free in Wessex, and she will stand with Bjorn.
King Harald had plans to take Kattegat after taking the loot from Wessex. However, he will face his own set of challenges in the next episode. King herald will return as a loser. However, a little blood spilling of those who think less of him will quickly establish him as a man to be respected. Another preview video posted on YouTube shows the king killing those who doubt his abilities. It remains to be seen if he will join forces with Bjorn to fight Ivar.
Meanwhile in Wessex, there will be tension between brothers. The tension between Alfred (Ferdia Walsh-Peelo) and Aethelred (Darren Cahill) has been a big part of “Vikings” Season 5. Episode 16 will be a culmination of that storyline.
All the traitors will be out to death by Alfred, but the life of his brother will be spared. Aethelred in turn can be seen in the preview video promising to never betray his brother again.
The preview video also teases the challenges of Floki (Gustaf Skarsgård) in the Land of the Gods. One of the people he banished previously will return on the verge of death, requesting Floki to help save his family.
The one person who is missing in the preview videos is Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick). Bjorn will be concerned about the possibility her disappearance nay not be her choice. The former queen of Kattegat is supposed to die one day, but for now she is alive; and she will return.
Lagertha’s last scene from the battle has been posted on the Twitter page of the “Vikings” TV series. It remains to be seen if she will finally be killed in the upcoming episodes of Season 5.
