“The Voice” Season 16 is quickly coming to end, which means it’s time for contestants to battle it out in the semifinals. During the Monday night episode, the Top 8 singers hit the stage to show off their vocals and convince America to vote them into the Top 4.

Check out how the artists performed before the results reveal which contestants will be voted into the Top 4 and move on to the next round of “The Voice” Season 16.

Team Blake: Andrew Sevener

During rehearsals, Blake advised Andrew to leave his comfort zone and put some emotion into his rendition of “Long-Haired Country Boy” by The Charlie Daniels Band. Although his performance started out strong, Andrew didn’t seem to push his voice in the way his mentor was hoping. While his performance wasn’t the worst of the night, it certainly wasn’t the best.

Team Blake: Gyth Rigdon

Although Gyth thought his version of “God Bless the USA” by Lee Greenwood would be a tune that would bring everyone together, his performance left some of the judges torn. His inconsistent vocals received some criticism from John and Kelly, who considered Gyth’s performance to be one of their least favorites.

Team Blake: Kim Cherry

Kim decided to take on Janet Jackson’s “Together Again” after Kelly questioned whether her love of rapping outweighed her passion for singing. The song proved to be a bit emotionally overwhelming for Kim, who considered the song a tribute to her late mother. While Kim’s tone added a heartbreaking element to the song, her vocals were not as strong as her past performances.

Team Blake: Carter Lloyd Horne

Carter thought he was giving the people what they wanted when he chose to do a cover of “Take Me to Church” by Hozier, but the decision may get him eliminated. Unfortunately, Carter’s performance was awfully pitchy, and his voice seemed to crack the entire time he was on stage.

Team Kelly: Rod Stokes

“Go Rest High On That Mountain” proved to be a sentimental number for Rod, who previously sang the Vince Gill song at his grandparents funeral. While Blake criticized Rod for going off key during certain parts of the song, the coach noted that he appreciated how Rod was able to use his voice to showcase his emotions.

Team Legend: Maelyn Jarmon

Following her nearly flawless rendition of Rihanna’s “Stay,” Maelyn was applauded by the judges, who flooded her with compliments about her precision and tone. At one point, Adam revealed he thought the singer should win the competition.

Team Blake: Dexter Roberts

Dexter received a plethora of praise from the judges, who were in awe of his voice. The rendition of “Here Without You” showcased the singer’s control of his raspy voice and versatility. Dexter’s decision to take a break from his country roots and rock out to the 3 Doors Down hit earned him massive applaud from the audience.

Team Legend: Shawn Sounds

Shawn showed no fear when he took the stage to perform “A Song for You” by Donny Hathaway. The flawless performance earned screams from the crowd and had Kelly fangirling over the contestant’s powerful voice. Blake, Adam and John had nothing but great things to say about Shawn’s performance. Considering the overall reactions to his performance, it seems Shawn pretty much secured his spot in the Top 4.

Other performances include:

  • Team Legend: Shawn Sounds and Team Blake: Kim Cherry singing, “Eleanor Rigby” by The Beatles
  • Team Legend: Maelyn Jarmon and Team Kelly: Rod Stokes performing, “Yesterday” by The Beatles
  • Team Blake: Gyth Rigdon and Dexter Roberts singing, “Hey Jude” by The Beatles
  • Team Blake: Andrew Sevener and Carter Lloyd Horne performing, “Help” by The Beatles

Find out which contestants will be sent home on Tuesday when “The Voice” Season 16 airs at 9 p.m. EDT on NBC.
