‘Walking Dead’ Season 7 Spoilers: New Photos May Reveal Inside Looks At Negan’s Sanctuary And Ezekiel’s Kingdom
October 23 can’t come soon enough for “Walking Dead” fans.
The hit AMC series has been on hiatus since March, and fans are dying to know who Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) killed with his beloved barbed wire-covered bat, Lucille. But the identity of the victim is not the only thing viewers have to look forward to when Season 7 premieres. Two new safe havens will be introduced — The Sanctuary and The Kingdom.
In Season 6, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the others thought that they discovered the safe haven belonging to Negan’s group, the Saviors. They entered the facility and killed everyone there as part of a deal struck with the Hilltop Colony, lead by a man named Gregory (Xander Berkeley). However, it wasn’t until the finale that Rick’s group discovered that they didn’t take out Negan and his people. While attempting to transport Maggie (Lauren Cohan) to the doctor at Hilltop, they finally encountered Negan and his large group.
Based on Robert Kirkman’s comics, we know that the Saviors live at a place called The Sanctuary. In the graphic novels The Sanctuary is located at a large factory. The Saviors keep unwanted humans and walkers out of their home with the use of a chain-link fence, as well as a “wall of walkers” and some stone barricades.
AMC released some photos this week that appear to give a look at The Sanctuary. You can check out the images below:
Other photos released by the network may give an inside look at The Kingdom, where a group of survivors led by a man named Ezekiel (Khary Payton) live. Survivors belonging to The Kingdom were introduced in the Season 6 finale. They encountered Morgan (Lennie James) and Carol (Melissa McBride), and agreed to take them back to their safe haven. However, the episode concluded before fans were able to catch a look inside their compound or meet Ezekiel.
In the comics, The Kingdom is located at an abandoned high school in Washington D.C. The survivors living there stay in tents outside the school, and are protected by a wall made up of buses and sheets of metal. “Walking Dead” fans are speculating that these images are from The Kingdom:
