WATCH: Chris Pratt Tried To Make Wife Anna Faris A Sexy Mixtape, He Tells Stephen Colbert
“Guardians of the Galaxy” star Chris Pratt wanted to impress his wife, “Mom” actress Anna Faris, but it didn’t go as he planned. Pratt thought making his wife a sexy mixtape would impress her, but it was a “big miss,” the star explained on Monday’s episode of CBS’s “Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”
The first time he made a mixtape it was met with success. “I did one for my brother first, and it was an ‘80s mix and it was called ‘Guess You Had to Be There’ mix, and it was a bunch of songs that just worked,” Pratt, 37, remembered. “I knew they would conjure up the same memories and they’d be sentimental for him the way they were for me and so meaningful.”

His brother was so thrilled he called Pratt crying. But it might have given Pratt a false sense of security. He made one for Faris, 40, and she didn’t have the same response as her brother-in-law.
“I made one for her, and I played it and I was thinking in my head, this is going to be our love-making mix, you know?” he said. "I decided to put [“Let’s Stay Together” by] Al Green. … She was kind of looking at me and I could tell right away — big miss — and it’s a long song. She was like, ‘Who are you? You don’t listen to Al Green. What are you trying to pull? We’re already married. It’s cool. I’m gonna give it up.’ That was the first and only song we got through, and I threw it away. I was so embarrassed, which is crushing.”
Pratt’s appearance on the “Colbert” show was the same night the comedian made a joke about President Donald Trump, which many people found offensive and homophobic. The actor didn’t respond to the controversy.
He promoted his “Late Night” appearance on his official Instagram account. The video was viewed nearly 1 million times by his 11.3 million followers.
Some called for Colbert to be fired from the “Late Night” show, but the host didn’t respond to the criticism. When International Business Times reached out the CBS for comment, they did not immediately respond.
Pratt’s new movie, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” is slate to premiere in theaters nationwide Friday.
