Some hosts from “Westworld” Season 1 were forced to lose their memories because of what lab technicians willed, but will Dolores Abernathy (Evan Rachel Wood) suffer the same fate in Season 2?

During the Season 1 finale, Dolores realized that she had been the villainous Wyatt all along and that she was responsible for the death of her creator, Arnold Weber (Jeffrey Wright). She ended up killing Weber’s fellow park creator, Dr. Robert Ford (Anthony Hopkins), not to mention several other hosts.

Lab technicians would probably want to tame her after the incident, and one way they are going to do so is to erase her memories. But Wood told the Los Angeles Times that it seems unlikely writers would want to go down that path.

“I seriously doubt that they’re gonna go back to doing what we were doing. I think they want every season to be different. And there’s endless possibilities. Because anybody can come back. You can be in any kind of world. You can be in any time. So who knows what they’re up to right now?” she said.

Wood really loved the evolution of her character, who started out as “the quintessential damsel, kind of dizzy princess.” When Wood took on the role, she had no idea Dolores would show a tougher, more fierce side. “There was supposed to be something about her, something beneath it all and something that drew the guests to her,” Wood told The Hollywood Reporter. “I knew that she was going to have an arc, and I think all that I was told was that it was going to start one way and end very differently. It wasn’t until the show started to progress and the episodes started coming in that I started piecing things together myself.”

Dolores might have turned over a new leaf towards the end of “Westworld” Season 1, but her fellow host Teddy Flood (James Marsden) remained true to himself. His character might have endured one hardship after another, but Marsden told Star 2 his morality never wavered.

“There’s a virtuous element to the character,” he explained. “Although against all odds, he will still do the right thing. He’d rather live a peaceful life. I love him working towards that and then getting pulled back and getting killed, reset, and then getting killed and reset (again).”

“Westworld” Season 2 premieres on HBO in 2018.
