What Does Blake Shelton Think Of Luke Bryan Joining ‘American Idol’?

Blake Shelton recently opened up about Luke Bryan’s casting as judge of “American Idol” reboot.

The award-winning country singer told Entertainment Tonight on Saturday that he had multiple conversations with his good friend about “Idol.” Even though Shelton is unsure that Bryan asked for his advice directly, he made it a point to share his thoughts to him about joining a reality TV competition. Shelton, who has been a mentor in “The Voice” for the past 13 seasons, is an expert on the subject.

“I’m sure the executives at ABC are really pissed at me right now for what they probably had to pay him to get him on that show. But good for you, Luke! Stick it to ‘em!” he said. The publication noted that Bryan was offered a $13 million deal by ABC to judge in “American Idol.”

Meanwhile, Shelton also shared his first reaction when he found out that Bryan has signed a contract with the network for at least one season. “I think people are going to realize how dumb he really is when they see him on national television,” he joked. But on a more serious note, the singer said, “But you’re also gonna see what a great, great, dude that guy is.”

In other news, the “Came Here to Forget” singer had a hilarious confession about his relationship with Gwen Stefani during his gig on Saturday night. A video uploaded on Twitter shows Shelton on stage with Stefani. He tells the crowd when he and Stefani started hanging out and messing around. He immediately explains that he meant messing around as in texting each other. The crowd went into boisterous laughter, and the couple was also welcomed with resounding applause.

Shelton and Stefani met as coaches on “The Voice.” At that time, Shelton was still married to Miranda Lambert, and Stefani was with her husband, Gavin Rossdale. Not long after, they separated from their respective partners and got into a relationship with each other. Since then, the couple has been inseparable.

While on “Late Night With Seth Meyers,” Stefani gushed over her boyfriend. “I love Blake! He is the most incredible guy. Everybody loves Blake, and that’s the thing. There’s no way around it. He’s just a sparkly like happy, amazing person,” she said.
