What Happened To Simon Cowell? ‘X-Factor’ Judge Rushed To The Hospital
“X Factor UK” and “America’s Got Talent” judge Simon Cowell was hurried to a hospital on Friday morning in London.
The 58-year-old was heading back upstairs after grabbing a cop of hot milk from the kitchen when he fell backwards down the stairs in his London home and hurt himself, according to TMZ. He was seen boarding an ambulance on a stretcher with a brace around his neck.
This all happened between 7:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. local time and Cowell’s significant other, Lauren Silverman, boarded a flight from New York City to London upon hearing about his accident.
“It’s been a scary morning,” Cowell’s rep told The Sun, which was the first outlet to report the news. “It was very early and Simon was going down his stairs to get some hot milk because he couldn’t sleep. He fainted and is thought to have fallen down the stairs.”
Though in stable condition, Cowell stayed in the hospital Friday afternoon, local London time, to undergo a few tests before being released from the hospital hours later.
While he is still working on recovering from the fall, he is, as of now, still scheduled to appear during Saturday night’s live “X Factor” show, though that could change and he might have to pull out of the event, which would leave fellow judges Louis Walsh, Nicole Scherzinger and Sharon Osbourne to hold down the show.
While the cause behind why the judge fainted has yet to be determined, this isn’t the first time this year that there has been a bit of mystery surrounding his health. Cowell had to miss some of the “X Factor” auditions in London in July due to an illness that left him bed-bound, according to The Sun, though he was able to muster the strength to attend the latter half of that day’s auditions.
“Simon didn’t feel well early in the day so had to have a bit of a slower start to the day than usual,” a source told the outlet.
Nonetheless, Cowell is now out of the hospital and recuperating from his fall and hopefully he learns the cause behind it and can recover accordingly.
