What Will Happen To Prince Philip If Queen Elizabeth Dies Before Him?
Prince Philip may be older than Queen Elizabeth II by a few years, but there is still a possibility that Her Majesty will pass away before him.
At the age of 97, royal fans could not help but wonder what will happen to the Duke of Edinburgh if Her Majesty, 92, would die first. On the online forum site Quora, royal fans are also wondering where Prince Philip would reside and which family member would take him in.
Sallie Smythe, a royalist and monarchist, said that she thinks Prince Philip would end up staying at the Windsor Castle or in Sandringham. Balmoral is well-loved by the retired royal, but it is quite far compared to Windsor Castle.
“Another possibility might be that he chooses to live with Princess Anne, his only daughter to whom he is devoted. She was the only royal to visit him during his recent stay in the hospital,” she wrote.
Chris Smith, a teacher, said that Prince Philip would most likely stay at Wood Farm on the Sandringham estate since this is where he transferred to after he retired from his royal duties in 2017.
Clarence Davis III, a psychology royalty, said that Prince Philip’s life would be similar to the Queen Mother after King George VI died. When Queen Elizabeth II’s dad passed away, the Queen Mother moved to Clarence House.
But some royal fans are still convinced that Prince Philip would pass away before his wife because of their 5-year age gap. The Queen also still looks very much healthy today, and she has not also retired from her royal duties.
After her lengthy Christmas break in Sandringham, the Queen returned to London to continue her work. There are rumors that she will soon abdicate in favor of Prince Charles, but this may not happen because she vowed to serve her nation until the day she dies.
But if Prince Charles dies before the Queen, something else would happen to the monarchy.
