“Lucifer” returns next month on Netflix. Netflix

Season 4 of the now-Netflix original, “Lucifer,” finally has a release date!

The devil drama, which originally ran on Fox for three seasons before getting canceled and then later picked up by Netflix, follows Lucifer’s (Tom Ellis) crime-solving adventures in Los Angeles and his relationship with his partner, Chloe (Lauren German).

Season 3 of the series ended last May, but this May it’s back with all-new episodes. Season 4 of “Lucifer” drops on Netflix on May 8, and it’ll find Chloe trying to come to terms with the truth she discovered about Lucifer.

“Reeling from the aftermath of Chloe seeing his devil face, Lucifer faces a new challenge: Eve [Inbar Lavi, “Imposters”], the original sinner herself, is back,” the synopsis reveals. “Does she want revenge for when he tempted her out of Eden oh so many years ago… or something else entirely?”

Speaking of tempting, the teaser trailer shows Lucifer teasing viewers with just 30 seconds of him, shirtless, coming out of a pool, picking up his usual drink and showing off his “666” tattoo on his lower torso. “He is risen,” the promo teases.

Also, aside from Lavi making her debut this season as Eve, Graham McTavish (“Preacher) is joining the “Lucifer” cast, as well, as Father Kinley. Original stars Ellis, German, Kevin Alejandro (Detective Dan Espinoza), D.B. Woodside (Amenadiel), Lesley-Ann Brandt (Maze), Aimee Garcia (Ella Lopez) and Rachael Harris (Dr. Linda Martin) are all back for the new Netflix episodes.
