Who Is Tiffany Trump’s Boyfriend? Meet Ross Mechanic, A Registered Democrat
While Donald Trump’s children have been in the limelight throughout the duration of his campaign, and later as a part of his transition team, his youngest daughter hasn't taken on quite as big of a role as her older siblings.
Tiffany Trump, 23, the construction mogul’s only daughter with ex-wife Marla Maples, has not been seen making too many public appearances. One of her most notable events, however, was the Republican National Convention in July, which she attended with her boyfriend, Ross Mechanic.
Now that Tiffany Trump is about to become First Daughter, you may want to learn more about her life. Here's what you need to know about the man at her side:
Who is Ross Mechanic?
Mechanic’s father is Jonathan Mechanic, a lawyer leading the real estate department as a partner at the firm Fried Frank. Previously, Donald Trump reportedly presented the senior Mechanic with a copy of his book “Trump: The Art of the Deal” and inscribed it. “To the greatest real estate lawyer in the world, best wishes, Donald,” he wrote.
Where did he study?
According to a LinkedIn profile in his name, Ross Mechanic is on track to graduate from the University of Pennsylvania this year. He's majoring in computer science and has taken classes on topics like algorithmic game theory, software design and engineering and iPhone app development.
Before that, he graduated from the Friends Seminary, a private Manhattan school where annual tuition and fees add up to about $41,800, according to its website. But he's in good company: Famous Friends Seminary alumni include actress Julia Stiles.
How long has he been dating Tiffany Trump?
They first appeared together in October 2015 on Mechanic's Instagram page, but the couple reportedly met at University of Pennsylvania. Tiffany Trump graduated from the school last May.
They have figured on each other’s social media accounts since then.
What is his political affiliation?
While his girlfriend’s father may have won the presidential election as a Republican, Mechanic, his parents and brother are reportedly registered Democrats.
What is his connection to the Trump family?
According to his LinkedIn profile, Mechanic interned at Cadre, a real estate investment startup cofounded by Ivanka Trump’s husband, Jared Kushner. On its website, Cadre is described as "a technology-enabled investment platform that connects qualified individuals and institutions to fully vetted, compelling real estate investment opportunities."
The 22-year-old was also a software engineering intern in the summer of 2015 at Idibon, a San Francisco-based tech startup.
