“The Bachelor” is far from over, but fans of the ABC dating competition are already thinking about “The Bachelorette” — more specifically, which of Nick Viall’s castaways will be chosen to star in the show. Many are hopeful that Rachel Lindsay will be chosen as “The Bachelorette,” but it seems some members of Bachelor Nation don’t think the franchise is ready to diversify.

During an episode of Vinny Ventiera’s “Wrong Reasons” podcast on Thursday, “Bachelor” alumni Chase McNary and Wells Adams weighed in on which of the Season 21 cast members they think will be chosen. Chase echoed the sentiments of many “Bachelor” fans, revealing that he thought Rachel was a good fit for “The Bachelorette.” He admitted, however, that he wasn’t sure producers would go for it and may just be trying to get fans hopes up.

“I think the franchise wants to so badly break out of its cookie-cutter, white-person shell, but I don’t think that America will embrace it, sadly enough,” Wells added. “And I think what they’re going to do is, it will be misdirection. I think it’s going to be...Rachel, and then at the last second, they’ll have Corinne.”

Chase agreed, citing Season 12 of the series when fans thought Caila Quinn was going to be “The Bachelorette.” At the last second ABC chose JoJo Fletcher. Chase suggested that producers linked to the “Bachelor” franchise were trying to “trick us again.” Both Chase and Wells fear that Corinne Olympios — the villain on Season 21 of “The Bachelor” — is going to be chosen as the next “Bachelorette.”

While Corinne is not favored to win this season of “The Bachelor,” she has been successful in winning over Nick’s heart. Ahead of Season 21, episode 6, sources told Us Weekly Nick is “attracted to women with strong personalities,” which is why he’s seen past Corinne’s digressions and enjoyed her aggressive pursuit of him. Nick is said to have a higher sex drive than previous “The Bachelor” contestants, making it hard to him to say no to Corinne. He is thought to be aware that his attraction to her is controversial, but believes there may be a future with her.

“He wants to take the process seriously,” a source told Us. “But no other ‘Bachelor’ has had a sex drive like Nick, and he loves that Corinne is so aggressive.”

In episode 6, Corinne will finally swoop in and try to sleep with Nick, according to reports. The “Bachelor” star and remaining cast members are headed to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, where Reality Steve reports that Nick will suffer a breakdown. After hearing, for the first time, that one of the cast members is falling for him — and sending her home because he doesn’t feel the same way — Nick will share with the cast that he’s not sure the process is working for him. Corinne will attempt to comfort him with her sexuality, and it’s going to lead to some serious drama.
