Mexico awaits answers to the airplane hijack that shocked the nation Wednesday afternoon.

Federal authorities are expected to hold a news conference in Mexico City at around 6:50pm EST today to provide further information on the incident that involved the abduction of 104 passengers of Aeromexico's flight 576.

None of the passengers were harmed, according to media reports. It is unclear how many suspects were arrested but local media reported at least six people were taken by police. Their nationality is believed to be Bolivian.

The Mexican security cabinet said a package that was thought to be a bomb was only a box wrapped with tape.
