Why Caitlyn Jenner Won’t Receive Campaign Support From Kim Kardashian And Other Family
Caitlyn Jenner has announced she is running for governor of California. However, when she hits the campaign trails, the famous Kardashian family won’t be there to show their support.
Sources told TMZ Kim Kardashian and her famous siblings won’t be showing their support for Jenner’s political career due to their opposing views and ongoing tension following her divorce from Kris Jenner.
In the past, Jenner’s opposition to gay marriage caused tension with the family. However, she later changed her opinion and is now in support of same-sex marriages.
Although Kim Kardashian is no stranger to politics and has worked with former President Trump on prison reform, she has no history of supporting Jenner’s conservative political views.
Although Kardashian did not promote her estranged husband Kanye West during his 2020 presidential campaign, in 2016, she did show her support for Democratic candidate Hilary Clinton.
Nonetheless, she and her siblings aren’t interested in getting in the middle of their parents’ issues.
Following Caitlyn and Kris Jenner’s divorce in 2015, the Olympic medalist spoke harshly about her ex-wife, which affected her relationship with some of the “Keeping Up With the Kardashian” stars.
On Friday, Jenner announced she would be running for governor in the expected California recall election to replace Gov. Gavin Newsom.
“I am a proven winner and the only outsider who can put an end to Gavin Newsom’s disastrous time as governor,” Jenner said in a statement. “Californians want better and deserve better from their governor.”
“This will be a campaign of solutions, providing a roadmap back to prosperity to turn this state around and finally clean up the damage Newsom has done to this state.”
So far, opponents of Newsome have gathered more than the required 1.5 million signatures in support of a recall election. However, an official decision on whether it will take place has not been announced.
