Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding seemed to be more popular than Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding. But it has now been revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s nuptials were much bigger compared to the Cambridges.

Grace Henry, a journalist for Express, discussed the cost of the royal couples’ nuptials. She said that Prince Harry and Markle’s wedding cost was estimated at £32 million last year.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s cake, florist, and catering service were paid for by the Royal Family. And when Prince William and Middleton tied the knot, the cost of the royal couple’s nuptials was estimated at £28 million.

However, it is important to note that the Cambridges tied the knot in 2011. This means that the value of pounds has changed since then.

Meanwhile, the huge chunk of Prince William and Middleton’s wedding cost went straight to security. Prince Harry and Markle, on the other hand, only spent between £2 and £4 million on security.

And when it came down to the royal couples’ wedding reception, Prince Harry and Markle’s wedding party was also considered to be much bigger compared to Prince William and Middleton.

The Duchess of Cambridge only had four bridesmaids and Prince William only had two page boys at their nuptials. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, on the other hand, had five page boys and five bridesmaids.

Based on this information, it may be surmised that Prince Harry and Markle’s wedding was much bigger compared to Prince William and Kate. However, it still cannot be denied that more people tuned in to witness the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Since Prince William and Middleton will become King and Queen in the near future, they were able to tie the knot at Westminster Abbey. Their wedding day was also declared to be a holiday in the United Kingdom. But Prince Harry and Markle’s wedding was just any other day.
