Why ‘Young And The Restless,’ ‘Bold And The Beautiful’ Aren’t On Today
Fans of the CBS soap operas “The Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful” will need to wait until next week to see new episodes of the two shows, as they have been pre-empted for the rest of the week due to the 2019 NCAA March Madness College Basketball Tournament.
New episodes of each show will air beginning on Monday, March 25, but the timeslots that usually see the shows airing will be filled with college basketball on both Thursday, March 21 and Friday, March 22 instead. For those following the tournament, on Thursday beginning at noon, they can see the first match of the tournament, featuring the No. 10 seed Minnesota Golden Gophers and No. 7 seed Louisville Cardinals. On Friday, the tournament kicks off at noon once more, this time featuring the No. 10 Iowa Hawkeyes and No. 7 Cincinnati Bearcats. Whichever teams win in these first-round games will face new opponents in the second round.
Of course, once the shows pick back up again, fans are sure to be in for some major twists and turns following the big cliffhangers from the most recent episodes of each show.
On “Young and the Restless,” JT (Thad Luckinbill) officially returned from the dead to confront Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Sharon (Sharon Case) in person at the Abbott cabin, where he was holding them at gunpoint. Things took another unexpected turn though when he hit the gas line for the fireplace, starting a gas leak, and then passed out. The women, who are tied up, were left frantically calling his name and desperate for help, but have nowhere to turn since they are fugitives and JT cut off their communication with Nick (Joshua Morrow).
As for what will happen with that storyline, the only teaser so far for Monday’s episode states that “Victor (Eric Braden) looks out for his family members.”
Meanwhile, on “Bold and the Beautiful,” the Forrester, Logan and Spencer families are still mourning following Caroline’s (Linsey Godfrey) unexpected death. As she tried to make a case for Hope (Annika Noelle) and Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) to be together, Taylor (Hunter Tylo) then did something unthinkable by kissing ridge (Thorsten Kaye). However, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) witnessed the moment and wasted no time confronting her enemy.
That storyline should pick up with things getting physical once again between the two women, as Brooke makes it clear that Ridge is her husband.
“The Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful” will return on Monday, March 25 at 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. EDT respectively.
