Aidy Bryant is a fan-favorite on “Saturday Night Live,” but she is exploring outside projects. Her Hulu TV show “Shrill” has fans wondering if she is thinking about leaving “SNL,” but it doesn’t sound like she’s ready to say goodbye.

Though Bryant told the Hollywood Reporter that she “certainly” thinks about leaving, she isn’t quite there yet. “This is my seventh season. That’s a long time. I’m really proud of what I've done there but I don’t feel at this moment that I’m ready to go. I’ll definitely go back for another season,” she confirmed.

It seems the star can balance “SNL” with “Shrill” for now. The latter is a six-episode half-hour comedy that’ll premiere on March 15. It follows Annie (Bryant) as a woman who decides she wants to change her life, not her body. Bryant is a co-writer while “SNL” producer Lorne Michaels serves as executive producer alongside Elizabeth Banks.

Bryant thought writing sketches on “SNL” would be different from writing for a typical comedy, but she quickly realized that her experience there prepared her for everything.

“This was a huge thing for me, going into ‘Shrill.’ I didn't know how to write a narrative show or produce or be in an edit room or work with a music supervisor,” she explained. “Then I started doing it and it was like, ‘Oh it’s just SNL. I've done this before.’ That was really empowering.”

While Bryant is sticking around, it’s less clear if Kenan Thompson will do the same. NBC has given his family sitcom, “Saving Kenan,” a pilot order. If it gets picked up for a full season, TVLine reports that he is likely going to leave “SNL.” He has been with “Saturday Night Live” since 2003.

“SNL” airs Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. EST on NBC.
