‘Will & Grace’ Revival Rumors: Debra Messing Hints At TV Series Not Pushing Through
“Will & Grace” alum Debra Messing recently weighed in on rumors that NBC has picked up a 10-episode revival for the TV show.
On her Twitter account, the actress contradicted what her former co-star, Leslie Jordan, said in 2016 about the revival being a sure go. Messing said that Jordan was wrong because nothing has been confirmed yet, and everything is still up in the air as of the moment.
In September 2016, Messing spoke with People to share her hopes for a “Will & Grace” revival. At that time, the actress said that she wants the show to have 10 episodes. She added that if the show will make a comeback, it should air on either Netflix or Amazon.
“If there was a ‘Will & Grace 2.0,’ my wish is that we did 10 episodes on, like, Netflix or Amazon or somewhere where it could be the naughty version of ‘Will & Grace.’ Because you know we were on network television and there were certain lines of common storytelling that we were limited to so it would be fun to kind of go into that world where nothing is held back,” she said.
By the looks of it, Messing’s statement was taken out of context. Not only did it trigger rumors of a possible revival, other fans also thought that things are already being finalized by NBC. In fact, “Will & Grace” alum Megan Mullally also told Pride Source that “Will & Grace” spinoff is most likely a go. “It’s not happening right this second. I mean, we’re not rehearsing or anything like that. But there is a very good chance that something is going to materialize,” she said.
