Will Meghan Markle’s Dad Be Part Of Her Wedding After ‘Feeling Hurt’?
Meghan Markle would have to make a choice on who will walk her down the aisle on her wedding day.
There have been initial reports suggesting that even though Markle and her dad, Thomas Markle, don’t have a close relationship, the “Suits” star still wants her dad to be part of her special day.
In November, Markle’s half-sister, Samantha Markle-Grant, told US Weekly that their dad is open to walking the actress down the aisle. “ ,” Markle-Grant said.
Earlier this month, Thomas was also interviewed by Mirror UK, and he said that he’d be delighted to send his daughter off as she marries Prince Harry next year. “Yes, I’d love to. I’m very pleased. I’m delighted,” he said.
However, the decision will ultimately come from Markle herself. And just recently, Markle’s half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., told the Daily Mail that their dad was “extremely hurt” by Prince Harry’s comments about their family.
“He dedicated the majority of all his time and everything to her. He made sure she had what she needed to be successful and get to where she is today,” Thomas Jr. said.
During his interview after Christmas, Prince Harry said that his fiancée had a blast during their royal family’s festivities because they were like the “family she never had.”
Thomas Jr. said that there’s no truth to such statement because Markle grew up with a “really good family.” “We were as close as we could be, as tight as we could be, that’s what we were. We’d get together on Christmases, on holidays, on birthdays, on Thanksgivings. It was always somewhere, even though we lived in different parts of Los Angeles, we still got together,” he explained.
But with the Markle family’s negative feelings towards Prince Harry, as well as the “Horrible Bosses” star, it’s possible that he will no longer be part of the couple’s entourage.
On the contrary, as a “tight-knit” family, Thomas may easily forgive Prince Harry’s comments and still take part in his daughter’s special day.
