Woman Jailed For Performing Sexual Acts On Daughter's 15-Year-Old Male Friend

A 45-year-old woman has been jailed for performing sexual acts on her daughter's 15-year-old male friend, who is also mildly intellectually disabled.

A Singapore court sentenced the woman to a year in jail Wednesday after she pleaded guilty to two counts of committing an obscene act on a minor, reports The Straits Times.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Hidayat Amir said the woman got to know the boy from a WhatsApp group created by some students. Later, in a private conversation, the boy told the woman about the issues he faced with his then-girlfriend. The woman comforted him and soon realized the boy is interested in her daughter.

Soon after, the woman started inviting the boy over to her home.

"During these visits, (the two teenagers) would first do their homework with the accused watching over. After they were finished, all three would go to the common room to play games together," the prosecutor said.

The woman would watch the teenagers' antics on the bed but told the boy he could not kiss her daughter's lips as she was "still very fresh." The woman also persuaded the boy's mother to let him stay over.

The court was told that on March 23 and 26, the woman molested the boy. She slipped her hand into his underwear and performed a sexual act on him despite the victim expressing his discomfort.

The court was told the woman committed similar sexual acts on the boy again, all the while her daughter was sleeping nearby. The boy was scared of her and hence couldn't ask her to stop.

The incident came to light after the boy approached the school counselor to narrate the ordeal.

The prosecutor told the court that the woman exploited the victim's fondness for her daughter. "The victim was especially vulnerable, with mild intellectual disability, and was the schoolmate of the accused's daughter," he added. He said the crime was premeditated as the woman had planned for the boy to stay over.

The woman pleaded with the court to fine her instead of sending her to jail. "My husband is not the real father of her, so most of the time, I'm the one taking care of her... I don't wish to be inside the prison; it's my first time offending and I won't commit again," she said.

The daughter of the accused who was also present during the sentencing cried loudly while talking to her mother in court.
