‘Wonder Woman’ Fans Express Shock Over Gal Gadot’s Shaved Armpits
Movie afficionados are quite observant and notice even the smallest mistakes, so movie makers today really have their work cut out for them.
In Patty Jenkins’ new “Wonder Woman” film, fans have zeroed in on Gal Gadot’s armpits, no less.

In the movie’s latest trailer, Gadot’s Diana Prince raises both her arms during a battle. People noticed that her armpits were clean-shaven, which should not be the case since her character was raised on an island of women. Many of them are fierce warriors who likely do not have time for waxing, bleaching and meeting society’s modern beauty standards.
Fans had a lot of hilarious comments about this on social media. “Just speaking aesthetically, the new ‘Wonder Woman’ trailer had me wishing she had armpit hair,” one wrote.
Another observer said: “Controversial hot take: I wish #WonderWoman had visible armpit hair. She was raised on an island of women [with no] Schick advertisements!”
OK! Magazine reported similar comments from fans. “Watched the new ‘Wonder Woman’ trailer,” one person tweeted. “Should we start the ‘why does she shave her armpits?’ discussion now, or wait until it’s released?”
Another added: “I just don't buy the idea that #wonderwoman would shave her armpits, let alone bleach them, as appears to be the case in the trailer.”
“Wonder Woman” actually provided a new origin story for the Amazons, and has set up Ares as the main villain. According to Batman News, “Harry Potter” alum David Thewlis would be playing the god of war, but his character will be made using a mix of CGI and practical effects, so Thewlis might be barely recognizable in the movie.
Meanwhile, boxer Ann Wolfe will be portraying the goddess Artemis in the film.
“Wonder Woman” will be released on June 2, 2017.
