‘World Of Dance’ Duels Make Jennifer Lopez Dance; Who Got Eliminated?
Jennifer Lopez couldn’t be more excited for the first round of duels in “World of Dance.”
On her Instagram account, the executive producer and judge shared a GIF of herself dancing during one of the dancers’ performances, which will air on NBC on Tuesday night. But despite Lopez’s excitement, the first part of the duels served as a very emotional episode for “World of Dance” since some favorites from the qualifiers were sent home.

In the installment, the uppers and teams were pitted against the other dancers from the same category, and the juniors also competed against the other dancers who are of the same age. However, the pairing of competitors were not decided upon based on their dance styles. For instance, Fik-Shun, a breakdancer, dueled against contemporary dancer Nick Daniels. The former advanced to the next round with a score of 90.7.
The Miami All Stars competed against the Swing Latino in the team category, and the former was sent home with an average score of 88.3. The latter received a score of 91.7 from Lopez, Ne-Yo and Derek Hough. Teen contemporary dancer Eva Igo also made it to the next round of competition after she was pitted against hip-hop dancers Kyntay. The former received a score of 89, while the latter received 82.7.
Quick Style, the all-male trio from Norway, impressed all three judges with their synchronized performance. However, their score of 89.3 was much lower than what Keoni & Mari received. The couple earned 91.3 points and will head to the next round.
Meanwhile, the remaining dancers will compete against each other in part two of the duels next Tuesday night. Some of the acts who received rave reviews from the qualifiers and who will be featured next week in “World of Dance” include D’Angelo and Amanda, Diana Pombo, Immabeast, JJ & Joey, Mini Request, The Lab, The Mihacevich Sisters, Femme Fetale, Les Twins, Kings Unite, Vibration, Trent Jeray, Chapkis Dance Family, Ian Eastwood and the Young Lions, Jabbawockeez, Kinjaz, The Kingdom, Super Cr3w and more.
“World of Dance” Season 1 airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. EDT on NBC right after “America’s Got Talent” Season 12.
