WWDC 2017: Apple TV To Support Amazon Prime Video
Among many announcements at Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference, the tech giant revealed that its Apple TV hardware will soon support Amazon Prime Video. The collaboration has long been delayed, but Amazon and Apple have now come to an agreement to allow compatibility.
As direct competitors, Amazon hesitated to allow Apple TV support as to not cannibalize its own Fire TV hardware. In the past, Apple users had to use AirPlay project Amazon Prime Video onto a television screen. Now, Amazon Prime Video will be among native apps on Apple TV.
Apple is also showcasing updates to Watch OS, MacOS and iOS among other announcements.
