WWE Elimination Chamber 2013 Results: The Rock Beats CM Punk, Will Face John Cena At WrestleMania 29
For the second straight year, The Rock and John Cena will headline WrestleMania.
At the “Elimination Chamber” Pay-Per-View on Sunday night, The Rock retained his WWE title, by defeating CM Punk. The victory ensures that The Rock will have a rematch with Cena at WrestleMania 29, since Cena won the Royal Rumble in January.
Just like the first match between The Rock and Punk at last month’s PPV, the match ended, somewhat, in controversy. Punk had The Rock pinned for more than three seconds, but referee Mike Chioda was knocked out and unable to give Punk the pin. The Rock eventually pinned Punk with a “Rock Bottom,” after Punk accidentally hit Paul Heyman with the championship belt.
Cena will be in the main event of WrestleMania 29, but he lost his match on Sunday. The Shield defeated the team of Cena, Sheamus and Ryback. Seth Rollins pinned Ryback after Roman Reigns hit Ryback with a spear.
The six-man Elimination Chamber match ended in surprising fashion. Jack Swagger pinned Randy Orton to earn a World Heavyweight title shot at WrestleMania 29. The “Real American” will face Alberto Del Rio at MetLife Stadium, after returning to the WWE on Feb. 1.
