  • Johnny Gargano made his triumphant return to WWE
  • Drew McIntyre wishes nothing but the best for Gargano on the main roster
  • Multiple storylines are already laid out for him

Johnny Gargano has made his decision and he is staying with WWE for the foreseeable future after a long layoff from the industry.

While fans are extremely excited to see him back, Drew McIntyre could not contain his happiness for the former NXT Champion when he made an appearance on WWE's The Bump.

"Very exciting to see Johnny [Gargano] back... Johnny's such an incredible talent... He achieved all this NXT success, but I didn't imagine he would get the opportunity, a real opportunity, on Raw or SmackDown. He's getting it right now. He's earned it, he deserves it," McIntyre said on the program.

McIntyre recalled how integral Gargano was to his run after being released from the WWE in 2014, particularly their run as the first-ever EVOLVE Tag Team Champions and their one-on-one match in Dragon Gate USA.

Gargano's return to WWE came as a complete shock to the pro wrestling community as while there were rumors of him being contacted by current NXT showrunner Shawn Michaels, none predicted when it would exactly happen after spending nine months away from the business.

Dirt sheet reports have kept fans on their toes with Gargano returning in a major way, but few expected it to have happened the way it did on the August 20 episode of Monday Night Raw.

Following a seemingly innocuous commercial break, "Rebel Heart" blared through the speakers and the fans in Toronto, Ontario, Canada popped hard for his theme.

The performer himself has been cheeky with his responses regarding his pro wrestling future up to that point.

Gargano is one of many former NXT stars to have been called up to the main roster in recent weeks alongside Dexter Lumis, Hit Row, Dakota Kai, Iyo Sky (Io Shirai in NXT), Karrion Kross and Scarlett.

With most of Triple H's NXT pillars deciding to return to the company after some were released, seeing Gargano on Raw is another sign of confidence that the performers have in him as the head of creative.

The fan reaction to his return proves how much of a draw he is and there are multiple ways in which WWE can shape his path.

The "Heart and Soul of NXT" already has a program in line for him with Theory, and it might also serve as the jump-off point for WWE to reform his NXT faction "The Way" on the main roster.
