WWE Star Opens Up About Being A Fan Of BTS, Names His Favorite Member

Looks like WWE star John Cena just made it clear once again that he is an ARMY.

The 42-year old wrestler shared a story about his love for the music of Korean boyband BTS during his appearance in The Late Late Show with James Corden alongside actress January Jones.

The English host asked about the boyband to Jones, who admitted that she doesn’t know anything about the band but still took photos with them and even posted it on her Instagram. Cena told Jones that he is a huge fan of the band, leaving her in disbelief.

“I became interested in the fact that they are a Korean pop band and they were the first Korean pop band to actually connect everybody throughout the world,” Cena said about the popularity of the Asian group worldwide. “I began to listen to their music and the message they sent to their fans, and it’s one of self-love and self-reflection, and being confident in yourself even though you may be different”, explained the multiple-time wrestling champion.

“So, not only is the choreography and development of personalities and the whole entertainment they put on spectacular, young people are listening to their music and they are sending a good message through their music and I think that’s really cool,” added Cena who admired the band for using their popularity for a good cause.

When asked about his favorite member of the band, he told Corden that he likes RM and J-Hope.

In 2018, the band learned about the wrestler being a fan of their music and they shared a virtual interaction through social media.

During the show, he was also asked about his preference in wrestling with denim shorts and his response is a hilarious one.

“I tried cargo pants and in front of the world a few times. Here I am trying to put my life on the line with a superstar that I’m trying to have a match with and everybody’s just looking at my d---,” revealed the future Hall of Famer. “Denim is a safe play,” he concluded.

Cena has spent most of his time outside the ring. His last wrestling match happened over a year now as part of the Fatal 4-Way Match for a chance to face Brock Lesnar on last year’s Royal Rumble together with Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin, and Finn Balor, who ended up as the winner.

The 42-year old star also was not part of Wrestlemania 35 that was highlighted by the match between Triple H and Batista, who announced his retirement from professional wrestling to focus on his booming career in Hollywood.
