After Victor (Eric Braden) confronted Jack (Peter Bergman) and told him to stay away from his family, Jack decided that finding out if he was also Albert Miller’s son was the best move to make on the CBS soap. It was clear that Victor didn’t want his long-standing enemy to be related him--or that he would learn anything at all, mainly because he doesn't want Jack to have any way of claiming any part of Newman Enterprises.

However, he will also remember there is another option when it comes to finding out the truth--Matt Miller (Richard Gleason), who identified the mystery photograph of a young Albert to begin with.
Jack will then invite Matt to Genoa City to discuss the situation, something that Victor will not be pleased with when he gets wind of his brother being in town. However, despite Victor's obvious disapproval, Jack will still pitch to Matt that he allow him to test their DNA together for answers, asking him to please help him because he is truly Jack's last shot at learning the truth.
