She was the one behind the wheel of the car when they were hit by a truck. Now, as everyone gathers to remember Hilary at her memorial service on the Wednesday, August 1 episode of "The Young and the Restless," the truth about just how complicit Lily was in the crash will be exposed.

Hilary (Mishael Morgan) died a few days after the car crash, which happened when she and Lily (Christel Khalil) were arguing about Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) and Shauna (Camryn Hamm). What Lily doesn't remember about the accident, however, is that the truck that hit them didn't actually come out of nowhere. Charlie, who was in the back seat of the car, and Shauna, who was watching from the side of the road, both saw Lily run the red light—meaning the accident was her fault.

Since then, Cane (Daniel Goddard) has told the two teens to keep the truth to themselves, worried about how it would not only affect Lily if she knew the truth but also how it would hurt her relationship with her family. The teens obliged, but Shauna has become increasingly furious that Lily isn't suffering any consequences ever since Hilary died, and she has wanted to reveal the truth.

Now, at the service, as Lily approaches her and tells her that she will help her when it comes to getting through the trauma of losing her mentor, Shauna will finally snap. Despite the fact that they are in the presence of everyone who loved Hilary, including Devon (Bryton James), Shauna will blast her boyfriend's mother, informing her that she had caused the accident by running the light, and blaming her for Hilary's death.

This revelation will not only stun everyone but will also cause the major complications that Cane had feared. Devon will immediately become enraged with his sister because it was never a secret that she and Hilary didn't get along, or that Lily despised her. Now, he will begin to suspect that it wasn't an accident after all and that Lily's distraction over fighting with Hilary wasn't the real reason the accident happened. He may now believe that Lily caused it on purpose, and this revelation could change their relationships and lives forever.

"The Young and the Restless" airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
