‘Young Sheldon’ Season 2 Spoilers: Episode 3 Synopsis, Promos Released
CBS just dropped the synopsis and teaser for “Young Sheldon” Season 2, episode 3 titled, “A Crisis of Faith and Octopus Aliens.”
This week’s installment centers on Mary Cooper’s (Zoe Perry) faith being shaken by a tragedy in the community, and Sheldon (Iain Armitage) becomes her unlikely ally.
In one of the promos released by the network, Mary tells her two younger kids and husband that she needs to go out of the house as soon as possible. She explains that she needs to bring food to the neighbor’s house, attend a group session, and start her faith garden in the backyard.
George (Lance Barber) asks his wife what a faith garden is, and Mary explains that it is an outdoorsy place for her to speak to God. A confused Missy (Raegan Revord) sarcastically asks her mom why she needs an outdoorsy place when she can already talk to God indoors.
Mary tells her family that praying in the backyard makes it possible for her to enjoy the beautiful world that God gave them. George tells Mary that he thinks her idea is nice. Mary tells him that she needs his car and also asks him to do several things for the faith garden. When Mary leaves their house, Missy tells her dad that he can already give out a sigh of relief.
In another teaser, Missy asks her grandmother Meemaw (Annie Potts) if she can take her to a funeral. Meemaw asks her granddaughter why she wants to see a dead person, and Missy says that it’s because she’s never seen one. Meemaw tells Missy that when she becomes her age, she will get to see a lot of dead people.
Another teaser shows George tucking his kids to bed. He turns off their light and urges them to go sleep. Sheldon and Missy are wondering why their mom didn’t send them to bed, and George says that Mary is still busy praying. Before leaving the kids’ room, Missy asks her dad to kiss her good night. George offered to kiss Sheldon, but he refused.
“Young Sheldon” Season 2 airs Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
