Zara Tindall Beats Kate Middleton This Way: ‘Mia’ More Popular Than ‘Charlotte’
Zara Tindall’s choice of baby name is more popular than Kate Middleton’s.
According to Latifa Yedroudj of Express, the most popular baby names of 2019 have been announced and the Duchess of Cambridge and Zara’s choices were in the list. However, Zara’s pick ranks higher.
Olivia is the most popular girl name followed by Sophia, Lily, Ava, Mia, Isla, Amelia, Freya, Isabella and Emily. Princess Charlotte’s name didn’t make it into the top 10 as it stands at the 19th spot compared to Mia, which was at the fifth spot.
On the other hand, Muhammed tops the list for the most popular baby boy names of 2019. Noah comes second followed by George, Oliver, Charlie, Harry, Leo, Arthur, Jack and Freddie.
According to the report, a number of parents pick the names of their babies from the ITV series “Love Island.” Among the names with rising popularity are Kady, Scott, Nathan, Cara, Amber, Kem, Camilla, Jamie, Chris, Marcela and Georgia.
“So parents are increasingly plumping for strong and stable names, especially those with a 1980s twist. Whatever anyone’s thoughts on the decade’s politics, we can safely say they were a little more settled than they are now,” BabyCentre wrote.
“Perhaps this is the reason why parents of baby Michaels and Maxines are compensating for the current turmoil with solid choices. Jason, John, David, Penny, Hannah and Emma are also making a comeback.”
Mia, five, and Princess Charlotte, four, were both seen at Princess Eugenie’s royal wedding in October. They were also spotted together when the Cambridge and Tindalls bonded several weeks ago.
On the said sighting, Prince William had Mia on his shoulders while Prince George perched on Mike’s shoulder. Meanwhile, the Duchess of Cambridge was photographed giving Princess Charlotte a piggyback ride.
Later that day, Prince George and Zara were seen doing a high five and hugging each other. One netizen commented on the royals’ outing saying that the Tindalls and the Cambridges have a big friendship.
Mike spoke up about the children’s close bond. He said that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Mia are close in age, so they can easily relate to each other. He is hoping that they will grow up as good friends.
