Zayn Malik Opens Up About Beginning Of His Romance With Gigi Hadid

Zayn Malik has opened up about how his relationship with Gigi Hadid started.

In an interview with SiriusXM’s “The Morning Mash Up,” Malik detailed the beginning of his relationship with the model. “Yeah, I just asked her [out],” Malik said. “It was pretty straight up. I just asked her if she wanted to go out. I was in New York… We met and we spoke, and we went on a date.”

While Malik was a bit timid about giving details, Hadid was more open about how their relationship started. “We were both talking about [the fact that] we’d never actually been on a first date until each other,” Hadid told Entertainment Tonight. “I met him once before and he is obviously so gorgeous, but really the way we could have conversations and kind of just…we’re really interested in the same things, so it was really easy. So that was amazing.”

Malik keeps things rather private when it comes to his relationship with Hadid, but he has shared just how much he admires the model. He also told Elle UK what he likes most about Hadid. “She’s super intelligent,” Malik said. “I think that’s why it works so well. And we do the same type of job so we get that with each other.”

It looks like things are going stronger between the two, and they are not the only ones who are happy about their relationship. Hadid’s mother Yolanda has also shared her joy over the couple’s status. The model-turned-reality-star took to Instagram to share her thoughts. Posting a photo of Gigi and Malik together, Yolanda said: “Happiness is seeing your kids happy and realizing they turned out to be really good and genuine people.”

Gigi and Malik were first spotted out together in November 2015. Malik confirmed their relationship in an interview in February 2016.
