Zoë Kravitz is opening up about her past relationship with her ex-husband Karl Glusman and her current relationship with Channing Tatum.
In the latest issue of Elle magazine, the March cover girl, who finalized her divorce from Glusman in August 2021, discussed where she stands with her ex-husband.
"Karl's an incredible human being. It really is less about him and more about me learning how to ask myself questions about who I am and still learning who I am, and that being OK," Kravitz explained. "That's the journey I'm on right now,"
The "Batman" actress noted that she remains "optimistic about life" as she continues to learn new lessons that help her personal growth.
"All my relationships in life — my friendships, my romantic relationships, my family — the journey is learning how to show up honestly," she said. "Sometimes we can't show up, and that's OK as long as we know how to communicate that we love those people."
Kravitz and Glusman were first romantically linked in October 2016 and tied the knot in June 2019. In December 2020, the "Big Little Lies" star filed for divorce from Glusman after less than two years of marriage, and their split was finalized eight months later.
Since her divorce, the "High Fidelity" actress has been linked to Tatum, who stars in her upcoming directorial debut, "Pussy Island." The duo sparked romance rumors with multiple outings in New York before media outlets confirmed in August 2021 that they were dating.
When asked about her relationship with the "Magic Mike" actor, Kravitz said, "I'm happy."
The 33-year-old actress also detailed her experience when it came to collaborating with Tatum professionally in her upcoming film, for which she spent five years writing the script.
"Looking at his work and hearing him speak about 'Magic Mike' and the live show, I'm like, 'I think he's a feminist. You need to be so far from who this is, where it’s not scary.' And I don’t think we’ve ever seen him play someone dark. I’m excited to see him do that," she said.
Meanwhile, Steven Soderbergh, who directed Tatum in "Magic Mike" and Kravitz in HBO Max's new thriller "Kimi," told Elle of the couple: "I'm assuming they're going to have fun, but if you're in any sort of a couple and you go into an endeavor like this, all bets are off."
While discussing "Pussy Island" in an interview with Deadline last year, Kravitz said Tatum was her "first choice" for the role of philanthropist and tech mogul Slater King in the movie because she felt he was a "true feminist."
Tatum, for his part, said he was shocked when Kravitz offered him the role because he's not usually the first actor to come to mind for such parts. He also shared that playing the role was both "scary and liberating," describing Slater as "a wild character, an extremely committed version — psychotic possibly — but an extreme version of myself."
Tatum was previously married to Jenna Dewan — with whom he shares 8-year-old daughter Everly — from 2009 to 2019.
