‘The Bachelorette’ 2012: What Happened To Ashley Hebert, Ali Fedotowsky, And The Others?
The eighth season of The Bachelorette premieres on May 14. Single mom Emily Maynard of Charlotte, North Carolina will meet several eligible men in a quest to find true love -- and maybe a dad for her young daughter!
Skeptics of The Bachelorette should beware: the show has produced success stories, so there is no reason to rush to conclusions and assume that 26-year-old Maynard won't find her own happy ending.
Let's take a look back at the past seven bachelorettes -- all of whom started off as contestants on The Bachelor -- and see where they are today.
Season One: Trista Rehn
Rehn was the runner-up on the first season of The Bachelor. Not everyone was thrilled about having a bachelorette, according to host Chris Harrison.
It was really controversial and it took a very special woman to be that first Bachelorette, he told People magazine, adding that Rehn is the godmother of the series. She's a large part of why we've been around so long.
Rehn is still married to her final pick, firefighter Ryan Sutter. They wed in a televised ceremony. The couple lives in Colorado with their son and daughter.
Season Two: Meredith Phillips
Phillips was rejected by Bob Guiney on the fourth season of The Bachelor. She split up with her own final pick, Ian McKee, after the show ended.
What we experienced together was incredible and we are both sad to see it end, the couple said in a statement, according to a RealityTVWorld.com report. We thank you for your support.
According to her website, Phillips is the co-president of ProChef, Inc. and lives with her boyfriend. She also published a cookbook in 2008 titled The Date Night Cookbook: 25 Easy-to-Cook Menus for the Busy Couple. Sounds yummy!
Season Three: Jennifer Schefft
Schefft was the final pick for former Bachelor Andrew Firestone, but that relationship didn't work out. She rejected the proposal of her own final pick while on The Bachelorette. Schefft later married in 2009 and she and her husband had a daughter the following year, according to a People report.
Season Four: DeAnna Pappas
Pappas was rejected by Brad Womack during his first round as The Bachelor. She went on to do the bachelorette thing and chose snowboarder Jesse Csincsak over Jason Mesnick, but not before Mesnick got down on one knee and proposed. She and Csincsak didn't last, however. She married Stephen Stagliano last year, People reported.
Season Five: Jillian Harris
Harris was previously rejected by Mesnick when he was the star of The Bachelor. She got a proposal from her own final pick during her bachelorette turn, but that relationship didn't last. She is now a designer on the show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
Season Six: Ali Fedotowsky
Fedotowsky was a contestant on the 14th season of The Bachelor but left for work reasons. Later, as The Bachelorette, she chose Roberto Martinez and accepted his proposal. Fedotowsky famously dismissed the runner-up before the final rose ceremony. She and Martinez later broke up. Fedotowsky continues to work in television and will host the NBC show 1st Look.
Season Seven: Ashley Hebert
Hebert is still engaged to her final pick, New Yorker J.P. Rosenbaum. The couple looked quite happy when being interviewed by Harrison during the latest After the Final Rose episode of The Bachelor.
