’50 Shades Of Grey’ Movie Poster Released? E.L. James Retweets Steamy Fan-Made Photo Of Charlie Hunnam And Dakota Johnson
Forget about the “50 Shades of Grey” casting backlash – some fans are already so psyched about Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson’s casting that they’ve already created a movie poster for the new Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.
“Fifty Shades of Grey” author E.L. James took to her Twitter account on Monday, Sept. 2 to announce that “Sons of Anarchy” star Charlie Hunnam would be playing Christian Grey, and that his Anastasia Steele would be “Ben & Kate’s” Dakota Johnson. The casting reveal immediately resulted in disappointed fans spewing hateful comments and demanding that their desired actors be replaced. A petition even popped up on Change.org two days after James’ announcement, gathering more than 60,000 supporters who want Matt Bomer and Alexis Bledel as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.
James took the criticism in stride, tweeting on Sept. 2: “To all the supporters, lovers and haters – thank you so much for the passion that you have for this project. You all rock. All of you. <3.”
And while the backlash may seem overwhelming, some readers are truly delighted about Hunnam and Johnson’s impending venture into the red room. One of E.L. James’ followers tweeted a steamy fan-made movie poster for “50 Shades of Grey” – and the author loved it so much that she retweeted it, commenting "Wow!"
The unofficial photo shows fans a side of Charlie Hunnam they haven’t really seen – clean cut! The actor is usually sporting long hair and a scruffy beard due to his role as Jax Teller on “Sons of Anarchy.” Dressed in a suit, his hand (which was flipped thanks to Photoshop) is provocatively tucked into Dakota Johnson’s white blouse. The actress, who is a brunette in the photo, has a slight smirk on her face as she looks down.
Posters aren’t the only thing that creative fans are dabbling with – impatient “50 Shades of Grey” lovers are also creating trailers! YouTube user FiftyShadesQueen posted an unofficial trailer for the film, piecing together recent works from Hunnam and Johnson.
“Fifty Shades of Grey” is set to hit theaters on Aug. 1, 2014. Let us know your thoughts on the unofficial movie poster and video below:
