‘90 Day Fiancé’ Cast Update: Ashley Claims Jay Wants ‘Half Of Everything,’ Quits Show
“90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?” Season 4 may still be airing on TLC, but cast member, Ashley Martson appears to have quit the show. The star seemingly addressed her future on the reality series and explained why she is still married to Jay Smith.
Ashley and Jay’s marriage has been on the rocks since the Pennsylvania native discovered her husband downloaded a dating app a few days after their wedding. Although she tried to fix her marriage, she eventually served Jay with divorce papers once she learned he cheated on her multiple times.
On Saturday, Ashley held a Q&A session on her Instagram Story and revealed Jay refuses to sign their divorce papers. One fan, who thought Ashley could divorce Jay in 30 days, wanted to know why the estranged couple was still married.
Ashley replied to the fan by explaining the divorce process, and the delay in their legal proceedings. “No, it’s 90 days wait to sign the papers. Funny right? 90 days to marry and 90 days wait to sign divorce papers. However, he is requesting half of everything I own, that’s why he won’t sign,” she wrote.
Despite his demands, Ashley insisted she wasn’t worried about Jay’s attempt to get his hands on her property thanks to her “savage” lawyer.
One day before her Q&A session, Ashley seemed to announce she was quitting “90 Day Fiancé.” In a lengthy Instagram post, the star thanked those who supported her throughout her time on camera and revealed she planned to turn her focus to something more important.
“As the show is approaching the final episode, I wanted to take time to say I appreciate all the support and love from the fans. I was given an opportunity that many wish for, and I am grateful for that. I was given the chance to let the world take a sneak peek into my life, and even though it didn’t end how anyone wanted or anticipated, it’s not something I regret or would take back! I’m sure next season won’t disappoint, and you will get the opportunity to meet new couples and follow their Journey! It’s time to step away from the show and focus on what’s most important. I have been given so many amazing opportunities from this show, and I will be forever thankful to @tlc and Sharp Productions. The amount of support I have received majorly outweighs the hate and I appreciate every message that you so kindly took time out of your day to write me. I have felt the true meaning of love and heartbreak and many other lessons while filming this show. I realized that there is a lot I need to work on with myself. I know through all this I have learned some valuable lessons and that I am stronger then I thought I could ever be. I love you guys, and I am so thankful I was able to experience this with all of you!”
Ashley concluded the caption with several hashtags including, “the show’s over folks” and “grateful.”
Part one of the “90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?” Season 4 “Tell All” episode will air Sunday at 8 p.m. EDT on TLC.
