Colonel Sanders has now brought his signature chicken for you to visit in “Animal Crossing: New Horizons.”

KFC Philippines and their agency, Ogilvy, have collaborated to bring Col. Harland Sanders’ trademark fried chicken with its 11 secret herbs and spices to a pop-up in the popular game. This is an actual dine-in experience, not a drive-thru, takeout, or delivery.

Gamespot reports that the setup comes with booths, napkins, place settings, and as you would expect, the famous buckets of KFC chicken on display. You can almost taste the gravy dripping off the chicken and mashed potatoes in this meticulously constructed adaptation of a real KFC restaurant. Visitors also have the option of being served either milkshakes or coffee to go with your meal.

This virtual KFC comes with a secret from the Colonel himself. There’s a hidden area on the island where the Colonel has stored the list of 11 secret herbs and spices that comprise KFC’s famous chicken recipe.

For a limited time, players who can visit this special island and interact with the avatar of Colonel Sanders will receive a code for an 8-piece bucket of KFC that is redeemable at participating KFC Philippines outlets. So sorry, rest of the world, this is available only in the Philippines.

To participate, visit the KFC Philippines Facebook page for the island’s Dodo code, get in line, and give the Colonel a visit in this unexpected location but only from June 17 to 22, 2020.

Gamespot notes that KFC has shown an interest in mingling in cyberspace in recent years and not limited to its stores in the Philippines. In September 2019, the company released a dating simulator that asked audiences to fall in love with a young, buff version of Colonel Sanders.

This “finger-lickin' good” dating sim was presented complete with anime-style graphics, a best friend, rival chefs, and a culinary professor who happened to be a talking dog. In 2015, KFC even released an 8-bit video game called “Colonel Quest” back in 2015 so perhaps it’s no surprise that the brand would explore cyberspace even further.

In KFC’s continuing quest to keep the Colonel a part of pop culture, the mascot has gone from 8-bit gaming to simulated dating, and now, to set up a branch in “Animal Crossing: New Horizons.”
