Anne Hathaway Is Reportedly Pregnant; 4 Times The Actress Talked About Motherhood And Wanting A Baby
Anne Hathaway has been a princess, a superhero and a fashion intern, but her next real-life role is a mother. The star is reportedly expecting her first child with husband Adam Shulman.
E! Online reports that two sources have confirmed Hathaway’s pregnancy and say she is more than three months along. "Anne is in her second trimester and feeling great!" an unidentified informant told the website. The “Devil Wears Prada” actress has recently been pictured with what appears to be a baby bump.
Hathaway, 32, married Schulman, 34, in 2012, and she has been vocal about wanting to start a family. Here are four times she mentioned wanting to have a baby:
1. While promoting “Les Miserables” shortly after getting married, the actress explained that she couldn’t wait to start a family. “I want to be a mother, and I anticipate loving my children quite fiercely,” she told Vogue. “I think about it all the time, though it’s a silly thing to think about, because the kind of mother I’ll be depends on the kind of children I have. I can’t wait to meet them.”
2. “Yeah!” Hathaway told E! Online in 2014 when asked if she wanted children. “I hope so! I am looking forward to it.”
3. Motherhood has been something Hathaway has wanted a long time. “I’ve wanted to be a mom since I was 16,” the “Princess Diaries” actress told the Telegraph in 2012. “I’m 30 and I want to have a family of a certain size. ... Look, I’ll start with one healthy kid, but I’d like to have a few naturally and adopt. I gotta get on it, you know? I’d like to have as many as I can afford, not just financially but in terms of time, because you want to make sure each one feels special.”
4. “I'm the only one here who's not a mother,” Hathaway told the Hollywood Reporter during a roundtable with Oscar contenders. “I hope to join the ranks soon.”
It looks like Hathaway’s dreams are finally coming true. Her little bundle of joy is expected to arrive in the first half of 2016.
