‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Spoilers: What You May Have Missed In The Trailer
The long awaited “Avengers: Infinity War” finally hit the internet Wednesday, and it is jam-packed with action. In fact, there is so much going on in the promo video that audiences may have missed a few key details.
Hulkbuster: Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) has a supersized suit for taking on the Hulk when he gets out of control. Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) is seen standing next to the arm of the suit in the beginning of the trailer, but the full suit makes an appearance later when Falcon (Anthony Mackie) is flying over the battle in Wakanda. Tony seems to be using it to fight Thanos’ army.
Spider-Man’s New Suit: Peter Parker (Tom Holland) was offered a spot with the Avengers at the end of “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” but he walked away from the offer. He didn’t, however, walk away from Tony Stark’s new suit. The new duds are darker and more metallic. Knowing Tony, there are plenty of other upgrades too.
Proxima Midnight: The Black Order isn’t the focus in this “Infinity War” trailer, but Thanos’ (Josh Brolin) minions appear briefly. Proxima Midnight makes an appearance at the 1:21 mark for less than a second. It looks like she is attacking someone in the shadows with her staff. It looks like Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), but that’s not confirmed.
Corvus Glaive's staff: It would be hard to miss the scene where someone seems to be attacking Vision’s (Paul Bettany) Mind Stone, but you might not have realized that the attacker is a member of the Black Order. The staff being used to torture him looks very much like the one the Corvus Glaive statue was holding at July’s D23 Expo.
Thanos Chokes Spider-Man: The scariest clip in the “Avengers” trailer is less than a second long, but it’s concerning. At the 1:37 mark, Thanos is able to throw Spider-Man around like a doll and seems to be choking him.
Captain America and Winter Soldier in Wakanda: At the 1:54 mark, T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) and the Black Panther’s army are obviously the focus. However, if you look behind the front line, Steve and Bucky (Sebastian Stan) are heading into battle with them.
War Machine: Rhodey (Don Cheadle) was severely injured in “Captain America: Civil War,” and he was having trouble walking. It seems he can still get back into his suit, though. He is flying above Black Widow and Winter Soldier in the jungle sequence at the 1:55 mark.
Groot Is A Teenager: In the final clip, we get the idea that it’s been a while since we last saw the Guardians of the Galaxy. Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel) is not fully grown, but it would be difficult to step on him now. He’s a teenager, as he was in one of the post-credits scenes of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.”
“Avengers: Infinity War” hits theaters Friday, May 4.
