Ben Affleck-Jennifer Garner United For Kids: Family Have Fun Weekend Despite ‘Tense’ Birthday Outing

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner may be having a tough time dealing with their divorce, but that did not hinder the former couple to spend time together as a family for their children. The family of five took time out to enjoy the various theme parks in Orlando this weekend to celebrate Affleck’s 43rd birthday. Eyewitnesses reported that the former couple looked tense but the family still had fun together.

The “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” actor flew to Florida Saturday, Aug. 15, to celebrate his birthday with ex-wife Garner and their three children -- Violet, Seraphina and Samuel. According to an E!News source, the actor wanted to spend his birthday weekend with his family and “that’s what he did.” The “Argo” star and Garner took the children to the Universal Orlando Resort Saturday, and followed it up with a trip to Disney World Sunday.

The family was spotted at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at the Universal Orlando Resort. They reportedly experienced various rides and theme park attractions including the Hogwarts Castle. Another E! insider shared that the family “looked like they were having a great day together.” The eyewitnesses added that Affleck and Garner were "smiling and the kids looked very happy and adorable too."

Although a few witnesses observed that the couple looked “tense” during the birthday weekend trip. A source close to the former couple told People that any parent would have a difficult time during such outings. The insider mentioned how hard it is to navigate through an amusement park with three children. Given that Affleck and Garner are famous celebrities, the family also had to contend with “a lot of onlookers.”

Despite the difficulties, the children enjoyed the trip. "They did it together and the kids had a great time, which is what they both wanted," The source said. "They are both making the best of a hard situation."

Meanwhile, another onlooker praised the former couple for trying to be good parents for their children and described how they “looked like a family, with a very brave face.”

Affleck and Garner announced their divorce in June after being married for 10 years. Although the couple’s separation has been riddled with affair rumors, the two remained focused on co-parenting their three children.
