Bobbi Kristina Brown Update: First Autopsy Complete, Cause Of Death To Be Determined In 'Several' Weeks
A preliminary autopsy of Bobbi Kristina Brown revealed no significant injuries, Us Weekly reported Monday. The daughter of late pop legend Whitney Houston and R&B singer Bobby Brown died Sunday at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Georgia. She was 22.
Many questions remain unanswered after she was found facedown in a bathtub Jan. 31, an incident that was eerily similar to her mother's tragic 2o12 death. "The initial portion of the autopsy has been completed. The autopsy does not show an obvious underlying cause of death and no significant injuries were noted. No previously unknown medical conditions that could have contributed to death were identified,” a representative of the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office said in an official statement to Us Weekly.
An official report will be drafted in "several" weeks. "Additional laboratory testing will be performed," the statement continued. "Subpoenas have been issued to obtain needed documentary information. We do not plan to complete the death certificate or determine a cause and manner of death until all test results are completed and all investigative, medical, and other documentary records are received and thoroughly reviewed. We anticipate that these processes will take several weeks."
While celebrities flocked to Twitter on Sunday night to mourn Bobbi Kristina’s tragic death, her father, Bobby Brown, broke his silence Monday. "Krissy was and is an angel," the R&B singer said through his attorney, Christopher Brown of Brown & Rosen LLC. "I am completely numb at this time. My family must find a way to live with her in spirit and honor her memory. Our loss is unimaginable."
At first, it was considered an "accident" when Bobbi Kristina was found unconscious in her Roswell, Georgia, home. Now, her boyfriend, Nick Gordon, is a "person of interest" and the case is being investigated as a homicide, TMZ reported Monday.
