'Boruto: Naruto Next Generations' Episode 228 Spoilers: Kawaki Joins A D-Rank Mission

Naruto and Shikamaru decide to conduct a special exam for Kawaki to test his skills in "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" Episode 228. The new episode is titled "Kawaki's Path to Becoming a Ninja."

The official promo trailer of Episode 228 shows Kawaki meeting with Lord Seventh and Shikamaru. They inform him about making him a genin.

However, he needs to be part of a team and complete a D-Rank mission. They ask him if he wants to give it a try. Kawaki, who is known to do what he wants, is likely to give his team members a hard time during the mission.

The second half of the trailer shows Kawaki conducting the mission but he feels becoming a shinobi is a pain.

In "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" Episode 227, Sarada took charge of Team 7 and they were given a new assignment.

Mirai returned from a mission and she was severely wounded. She revealed the nature of the mission become quite complex.

The leadership at Hidden Leaf Village decided to send reinforcement and tasked Team 7 to go as a backup.

"Team 7, with Sarada as captain, are assigned a mission. Mirai, who was on a mission with Konohamaru, returns to the village critically injured. The mission was supposed to be simple, but Mirai reports that the situation has changed drastically. It's decided that reinforcements will be sent and Team 7 volunteers to go," read the official synopsis of Episode 227, according to Crunchyroll.

"Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" Episode 228 is scheduled for release on Dec. 12. The episodes are streaming on Crunchyroll, Hulu and Apple TV.
