Britney Spears' Conservatorship Ending Could Create 'Great Challenge', Says Brother

Britney Spears' conservatorship has remained in the news in recent weeks following the resurgence of the Free Britney movement and a court hearing on Wednesday where various issues surrounding the long-standing agreement were discussed. Now, the "Toxic" singer's brother, Bryan Spears, is sharing his own thoughts about his sister's ongoing legal issues.

In an interview with Drew Plotkin, host of the "As NOT Seen on TV" Podcast, Bryan acknowledged that while there "was a need" for the conservatorship when it was put into place in 2008, it may not be as relevant now.

After stating that she has been "in this thing for quite some time now," he then discussed what the future could hold in terms of Britney's ability to make her own choices down the road.

"Now they've made some changes and all we can do is hope for the best," he said, adding that the conservatorship has "been a great thing for our family, to this point, and [we] keep hoping for the best."

Additionally, Bryan also discussed their father, Jamie Spears, who has faced criticism over the years for his role as conservator. After stating that he believed his father has "done the best he could, given the situation he was put in," he stated that everyone in their family has sacrificed over the years and put in "a little bit to keep everything going."

He then stated that he understood why the "Crossroads" actress may be frustrated with her situation and indicated that she has "wanted to get out of it for quite some time." However, he believes the conservatorship's conclusion could bring about a new set of challenges for both Britney and those around her.

"I know what she wants but at the end of the day, what is the reality of that? What is the practicality of that? So are you going to call and make reservations for yourself today?" he asked, adding that everyday tasks could be "a great challenge" for her.
