Britney Spears is happy with the recent changes in her life but acknowledges that she still has plenty of "healing" to do.
Just days after her father Jamie Spears was suspended as conservator of her estate, the "Toxic" singer shared a photo on Instagram of a huge tree with its branches extending through a hole in the ceiling. In the caption, she wrote that she wants to focus on herself in the coming days.
"Although there is change and things to celebrate in my life, I still have a lot of healing to do!!!" Spears wrote alongside the image Saturday.
"Thankfully I have a good support system and am taking time to understand it's OK to slow down and breathe!!!!!" she added. "Only through self love I can pray … love … and support others in return!!!!"
Fans and followers showed their support to the pop superstar in the comments section.
"You are so incredibly strong, we love you so much," Jeffree Star commented with a red heart and fire emoji.
"You are so strong, Britney. We are here for you," one fan wrote, while another added, "Queen of healing."
"God bless you, Britney. Wishing you love light and happiness," a fourth Instagram user wrote.
Last week, Spears was freed from her father after judge Brenda Penny granted the request of the singer's attorney, Mathew Rosengart, to suspend Jamie's role in her conservatorship. The judge agreed that Spears' father's suspension was in the pop star's best interests.
"The current situation is untenable,” the judge said after hearing arguments from both sides. "It reflects a toxic environment which requires the suspension of James Spears."
Spears reportedly burst into tears and jumped for joy after learning about the judge's ruling. "For the longest time, she had begun to think that she would never see the day that her father's domineering control over every single aspect of her life would end, but it finally happened," an unnamed source told Page Six.
Jamie, however, called the judge's decision a "loss" for his daughter in a statement released through his lawyer, Vivian L. Thoreen, after Wednesday's hearing.
"Mr. Spears loves his daughter Britney unconditionally. For 13 years, he has tried to do what is in her best interests, whether as a conservator or her father. This started with agreeing to serve as her conservator when she voluntarily entered into the conservatorship," the statement obtained by Us Weekly read.
The lawyer continued, "Respectfully, the court was wrong to suspend Mr. Spears, put a stranger in his place to manage Britney’s estate and extend the very conservatorship that Britney begged the court to terminate earlier this summer."
Spears' attorney told People that he is focused on "terminating the entire conservatorship and looking into the misconduct of Jamie Spears and others."
The next hearing in the case is scheduled for Nov. 12.
