BTS Reaches More Than Half A Billion Views On YouTube Following 'Butter' Release

BTS continues to break records on various online platforms, including YouTube.
The K-pop supergroup garnered a whopping 549 million plays on the popular video-sharing website last week, reported Forbes. The more than half a billion views were credited to the release of the band's "Butter" music video, which has effortlessly achieved several milestones since its release.
In fact, the "Butter" music video was watched 235 million times during its first week on YouTube, making it the most-watched upload of the week. BTS even beat Alka Yagnik, who is this week's second-most-played musician on the platform, more than twice over.
As of writing, the official music video of "Butter" has already had more than 274 million views on YouTube. It has also garnered than 16 million likes and 6.79 million comments on the platform.
The clip is also the No. 1 trending video for music on YouTube. Bella Poarch's "Build a B*tch" music video occupies the second spot, followed by BTS' "Butter" Dance Practice video, Olivia Rodrigo's "happier" and "traitor" music videos, respectively.
Moreover, BTS' second English-language track also topped Billboard's new music poll. Music fans voted "Butter (Hotter Remix)" as their favorite new music release of the past week.
The BTS track received 64% of the total votes, smashing out newly released songs like "Exodus" by DMX, "Goodbye & Good Riddance (Anniversary Edition)" by Juice WRLD and "Killer remix" by Eminem featuring Jack Harlow and Cordae. This marks BTS' second consecutive week dominating the Billboard tally.
"Butter" also generated more than 20.9 million global streams during its first 24 hours, making it the track with the largest single-day streams on Spotify. The same track shattered two records at YouTube after its official music video set an all-time 24-hour record of 108.2 million views, breaking the group's own record of 101.1 million views for "Dynamite."
The latest track of BTS also had the biggest YouTube music video premiere after "Butter" got a peak concurrent of more than 3.9 million. "Dynamite" held the record in August 2020 with more than three million peak concurrents.
