The same message was posted on Faris’ official Twitter page.
The couple was married in 2009, after falling in love on the sets of "Take Me Home Tonight" in which Faris played Pratt's love interest. After their engagement in 2008, Faris of the "Scary Movie" series fame saidof Pratt, "He’s awesome. He’s a great, great guy. I feel really lucky."
Rumors that all was not well between Pratt and Faris began doing the rounds after both were seen not wearing their wedding rings at various events, according to People magazine. Most recently, at the Los Angeles premiere of "The Emoji Movie," Faris attended the premiere with son Jack and was seen without her ring. Things between the couple had reportedly been tense through the past year. The report in People also quoted a source saying that Faris seemed unhappy because of Pratt’s busy schedule and the separation while he was away was hard to bear for her.
The couple went through a rough patch in their marriage in 2015, after rumors swirled that Pratt had cheated on Faris with his "Passengers" co-star Jennifer Lawrence. Talking about the rumors, Faris said in an interview to Us Weekly: "[That] stung a little bit harder than I thought it would. I thought, ‘Maybe there is a kernel of truth to that'."

In 2016, she also talked about the gossip on her podcast, “Anna Faris Is Unqualified,” and said: “I take pride in how great my relationship is with Chris, but having said that, of course, in this crazy world where he’s off doing movies and I’m in L.A. raising our child, of course I’m going to feel vulnerable, like any normal human would." She added that she felt "incredibly insecure."
They were touted as one of the most successful couples in Hollywood and were often seen displaying their affection for each other and their son on social media. When Pratt got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in April, he took to Instagram to thank Faris and said: “Thank you for the support honey! You look so beautiful. These press tours can be such a whirlwind. I'm grateful to have you and the boy with me on this one.”
Meanwhile, fans of the couple were devastated on hearing about the separation and took to Twitter to express their disappointment.
