Colin Farrell’s SAG Awards Mustache Speculated To Be Preview Of ‘True Detective’ Season 2 Character Ray Velcoro
Colin Farrell arrived at the Screen Actors Guild Awards Sunday rocking a pretty serious mustache. The 38-year-old was on hand at the 21st annual award show to present the award for Outstanding Performance By A Female Actor In A Supporting Role, but all anyone could focus on was his facial hair. Viewers immediately began to speculate about whether Farrell’s grooming choice was for a role -- specifically the upcoming second season of HBO’s “True Detective.”
HBO confirmed in late September Farrell would star in Season 2 of the series. The actor will be portraying Ray Velcoro, a character described as a “compromised detective whose allegiances are torn between his masters in a corrupt police department and the mobster who owns him.”
